Distinguished Mountaineer Our very own Wally was honored by West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin III as a Distinguished Mountaineer. This Certificate of Recognition was presented to Wally by delegate Sam Argento for his dedication to the community. Wally has been instrumental in numerous civic organizations all with the intent to better our local area. Wally is not only an avid RC Flyer, but also a pilot who loves the outdoors. Simply put, without Wally, there would be no Wally's Squadron. All of the RC Flyers at Wally's Squadron and the local community are proud to have come in contact with a man such as Wally.
Model Aviation Days Governor Joe Manchin III proclaimed August 20th and 21st of 2005 Model Aviation Days in the mountain state of West Virginia. The Governor recalled that Wally's Squadron was formed by Buck and Wally over 19 years ago at the former Nicholas County Airport to provide people the opportunity and location to enjoy the sport of model aviation. The 14th annual fly-in and picnic provided a great family atmosphere for flyers to "show off" their skills and for spectators. This year 83 flyers registered for the fly-in. Not the most ever, but a very exciting group to watch.
Prize Winners This year's grand prize winners were Lew and his son from Pittsburgh PA. All the members of Wally's Squadron hope Lew and his family get years of enjoyment from his visit to the 14th Annual Wally's Squadron Fly-in. There were many other prize winner who will be posted on the 2005 Wally's Squadron 14th Annual Fly-In winner's page.
